The smoking jacket design is an iconic hallmark of 70s fashion. Meant to serve as a more casual alternative to the tuxedo, jackets like these were intended specifically for tobacco smoking. While they originated in style in the mid 1800s, they were brought back in the 70s to reflect the elegance and sophistication of the time. The lack of a tag on this piece suggests it was custom made.
